By using MailBullet, you agree to this Data Processing Agreement. It outlines how we handle personal data on your behalf, in compliance with applicable privacy laws like the GDPR and CCPA.

We’re not here to play games with your data—or your customers’ data. Here’s how we operate:

1. Purpose of Processing

We process personal data only so you can send marketing or transactional emails to people who’ve opted into your list.

This includes things like names, email addresses, IP addresses, or any custom fields you upload for email campaigns.

We do not use your data for our own purposes. Ever.

2. Your Responsibilities

You’re the Data Controller. That means:

  • You must have proper consent for every contact you upload
  • You are responsible for the content you send
  • You must comply with all applicable data protection laws

Don’t upload scraped lists. Don’t send spam. Don’t act shady.

3. Our Responsibilities

We’re the Data Processor. That means:

  • We only process your data as instructed
  • We store it securely and don’t share it with anyone else
  • We’ll assist you if your users request access, deletion, or correction of their data
  • We’ll notify you immediately of any data breach (though we intend to prevent that)

We use Amazon SES and secure hosting providers to send and store data, and those subprocessors are GDPR-compliant.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we’ll remove it from our systems within 10 business days.

5. International Transfers

MailBullet stores data in the United States. If you’re in the EU or UK, you agree that your data will be transferred and processed in the U.S. with appropriate protections in place.

6. Subprocessors

We use trusted third-party providers, including but not limited to:

  • Amazon Web Services (SES) – email delivery
  • Mailgun/Postmark (optional fallback) – transactional backup
  • Cloud-based analytics (internal use only)

We hold our subprocessors to strict security and confidentiality standards.

7. Security Measures

We use:

  • Encrypted storage and transport (SSL/TLS)
  • Role-based access control
  • Regular security patching
  • Firewalls, monitoring, and brute-force protection

We take this seriously. It’s your data—and your reputation.

8. Data Subject Rights

If one of your contacts asks to:

  • Access their data
  • Delete it
  • Correct it
  • Or opt-out of future mailings

…you can handle it directly, or contact us to assist. We’ll help fast.

9. Liability

MailBullet isn’t responsible if you violate data laws or upload garbage. If you send junk to people who didn’t consent, that’s on you.

We are, however, responsible for keeping your data safe and not doing anything dumb with it.

10. Contact
